Willie Nelson has had some health issues as of late. He has many fans spanning multiple generations and just keeps playing. A testament to American drive and hard work.
But his many fans were encouraged when he son recently said,
“Happy to report that dad is feeling great and will be back on the road, Music and Love are a healing combination.”
But it looks like that was a bit premature. Now word comes from Nelson’s family that he may have taken a turn for the worse.
Willie Nelson just announced he will be canceling upcoming shows. Shows canceled include concerts in Sahuarita, Arizona and Albuquerque, New Mexico, due to illness.
Organizers at the Desert Diamond Casino and Route 66 Casino, are working to reschedule the shows with Nelson’s team.
But new dates have yet to be released which is not good news for the man who has brought so many smiles to music lovers over the years.
Willie Nelson, as if defying age, was a nominee for a Grammy this year. But his fans are wondering if this will mark the end of his illustrious career.
His family and fans have been extremely supportive of Nelson during his illness. Nelson is an American treasure and they let him know this in many ways.
But there is some good news coming from the Nelson camp. Yesterday Willie made a surprise visit
at SXSW in Austin, Texas to play a few songs. He also hinted that he will release another album this year, tentative date – April 28th.
