There’s a lot we don’t know about Barack Obama, which is due to the fact he went to great lengths to hide his past, but a bombshell revelation was just made about the former White House occupant that has people talking.
Almost every conservative will tell you that Obama was never properly vetted by the media, who all but handed him to the country on a silver platter since he was the first black (half-black) man to run for president. Pulitzer Prize-winning author David Garrow agrees as well, and in his new book, “The Making of Barack Obama,” he delves into the community organizer’s past to answer some of the questions we’ve had for some time.
According to the Daily Caller, along with doing cocaine and smoking pot on a regular occasion, the young Obama was also uncertain about his sexuality. In fact, not only was he unsure if he liked men or women, he “considered gayness” before he ended up marrying his wife Michelle because he believed a heterosexual relationship would be easier all around.
From the Caller:
“Goldyn made a huge impact on Barry Obama,” Garrow wrote in the book. “Almost a quarter century later, asked about his understanding of gay issues, Obama enthusiastically said, ‘my favorite professor my first year in college was one of the first openly gay people that I knew…He was a terrific guy” with whom Obama developed a ‘friendship beyond the classroom.’”
The book didn’t go so far as to say that Obama had a romantic relationship with the professor; however, it did say that he had definitely considered entering a same-sex relationship.
“Three years later, Obama wrote somewhat elusively to his first intimate girlfriend that he had thought about and considered gayness, but ultimately had decided that a same-sex relationship would be less challenging and demanding than developing one with the opposite sex,” Garrow wrote. “But there is no doubting that Goldyn gave eighteen-year-old Barry a vastly more positive and uplifting image of gay identity and self-confidence than he had known in Honolulu.”
Then there was Garrow’s appearance on the Jamie Weinstein Show, where he was specifically asked about Obama’s queer tendencies as a college student. While he didn’t answer the question in a straightforward manner, he did elude to the possibility that Obama was actually gay throughout college.
Garrow paused and replied, “I think anyone and everyone, no matter what their role in life deserves a certain basic degree of privacy, in that context.”
Granted, Obama’s sexuality means nothing in the grand scheme of things, and it truly his business who he chooses to go to bed with. However, it’s also our right to know who we have running our nation, and while he’s no longer in office, there’s a lot of people out there who’d like to know more about him, especially given the actions he took while residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
