The email scandal might not be on the front page of the news right now, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t be there soon. In the meantime we have a continuous, slow drip of incriminating stories.
It’s almost as though the players in this hacked email drama all know that it could break loose with one devastating revelation, and none wants to be the one who discloses it. So we see this dancing around the facts as people who know the story attempt to say enough to shut up the investigators without saying too much.
A document, apparently hacked by the Russians, is the subject of Senate hearings. It claims that Attorney General Loretta Lynch was contacted by a Democratic operative to insure that she stopped the investigation into Hillary’s email scandal before it went too far.
The focus of current Senate hearings is on this document,“‘which has been described as both a memo and an email, [and] was written by a Democratic operative who expressed confidence that Ms. Lynch would keep the Clinton investigation from going too far, according to several former officials familiar with the document,’ The [New York] Times reported.”
“According to Breitbart, [Senator] Grassley noted the report from The Times, then asked [FBI Director] Comey, ‘How, and when, did you first learn of this document? Also, who sent it and who received it?’”
Comey replied with a predicable response: “That’s not a question I can answer in this forum, Mr. Chairman, because it would call for a classified response.”
“When asked ‘what steps did the FBI take to determine whether Attorney General Lynch had actually given assurances that the political fix was in no matter what’ and whether he could provide the email, Comey gave similar responses.”
So Mr. Comey appeared to be doing everything he can to derail the investigation. He’s in a no-win situation otherwise. If he admitted he had the document during the campaign and did nothing, he’s in trouble. If he claimed he did not, and it is later revealed that he did, then it’s obvious he lied to Congress.
It is alleged that during the presidential campaign that Hillary stated that Trump must be stopped at all costs otherwise, “we will all hang.” That may be one of the few times in her life that she told the truth.
