Hollywood is in mourning this week after Emmy-award winning actor Peter Hansen, who has starred on the show General Hospital since 1965, passed away on Sunday. He was 95 years-old.
Daily Mail reported that Hansen, who had played lawyer Lee Baldwin, began starring on the popular soap opera in the 1960s, and continued making recurring appearances until 2001. He won the Daytime Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1979.
Hansen entered the acting world after attending college and serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. His other acting credits include appearances in The Golden Girls, Starman, The Lone Ranger, and The Adventures of Jim Bowie.
Hansen met his wife Florence when he was in high school and remained married to her for 54 years until she died in 1993.
Fans of General Hospital have taken to Twitter to honor him:
Rest in peace, Lee Hansen!
